A NEW EARLY YEARS FACILITY FOR TARNEIT FAMILIES – Riverdale Community Centre

The Andrews Labor Government is building new and upgrading early learning facilities across the state, as it gets on with delivering universal Three-Year-Old Kinder.

Member for Tarneit, Sarah Connolly MP and Parliamentary Secretary for Early Childhood Education, Sonya Kilkenny MP, today announced Wyndham City Council would receive funding to build a new $9 million integrated children’s centre in Tarneit West, Riverdale Community Centre.

The new facility will mean Tarneit West families will have access to rooms to deliver kindergarten services, maternal and child health services, consulting rooms, community meeting rooms, lounge area and WIFI, community kitchen, and a range of outdoor spaces.

The Children’s Facilities Capital Program (CFCP) will provide $2 million as part of the Labor Government’s $33.6 million investment in the 2019/20 Budget for the CFCP and Inclusive Kindergarten Facilities Program.

Funding has been allocated through the program to build new and upgrade existing early years facilities to support the roll-out of funded three-year-old programs, as well as continuing to support the demand for four-year-old kinder.

Additional funding of $2 million has also been provided by the  (GSF) – a $250 million investment over 5 years in critical local infrastructure for Melbourne’s diverse and fast-growing outer suburbs.

This is about ensuring families have access to stronger support in early childhood, so kids are ready for kinder, ready for school and ready for life.
