Boosting The Teaching Workforce Supporting Victorian Teachers
Teachers are such a valuable part of helping our kids to achieve their goals.
It's why this year's budget saw $58.9 million allocated to help support more than 1,200 postgraduate students to graduate between 2023 to 2026.
We're also making sure there are teachers in areas of high need and so a further $14.4 million has also been put towards 150 teachers taking up careers in those regions.
It's always exciting to see how many new and upgraded schools are being built in our community!
What you're looking at are photos of 3 schools all now undergoing construction right here in Melb's West. 📌 Riverdale East Primary School -New Primary Schoolopening at 455 Bethany Rd, Tarneit 3029. 📌 Tarneit Missen House Primary School -New Primary School opening at 85 Polly Pde, Tarneit 3029. 📌 Warringa Park School -New specialist school campusfor primary-aged students with intellectual disabilities opening at 71 Polly Parade, Tarneit 3029.
All set to open 2023!
Universal Design Grants Making Victoria More Accessible
In order to help make Victoria even more accessible, Universal Design Grants of up to $180,000 are available to build 30 new Changing Places accessible toilets across the state.
New Universal design grants are also open to help make existing community facilities and public spaces more accessible. Both small and large grants of up to $500,000 are now available.
International Healthcare Workers Easing Pressure on Hospitals
The last couple of years we have seen the need for major healthcare investments. With pressure increasing on hospital staff almost 700 overseas workers have arrived in Victoria this year to help out.
Since 2014 these additional healthcare workers have helped add more than 22,000 extra healthcare workers to the public health system.
This is just one of many ways the Victorian Government is helping to reduce pressure on the healthcare system.
