DOHERTYS CREEK P-9 COLLEGE NEW BUILDING!
Truganina students now have bigger, better classrooms and school facilities to learn in thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Dohertys Creek P-9 College just completed major works worth $11.23 million in time for Term 1, 2022 - meaning students will now be able to complete Years 7-9 at this great local school.
It's all part of our $10.9 billion dollar plan for new schools and school upgrades. I couldn't be prouder to be a part of a Government that gets on with the job and delivers.
NEW SCHOOLS OPENING IN 2023 RIVERDALE EAST PS & TARNEIT MISSEN HOUSE PS
We made a commitment to build 100 new schools between 2019 & 2026 - and we're doing just that 👍
This includes our brand new schools at Riverdale East Primary School and Tarneit Missen House Primary School.
Here's the gist:
✅ New boundaries for both schools will be published online at findmyschool.vic.gov.au later in 2022.
✅ You can be a part of choosing the school's name via Engage Victoria.
Booth schools will include:
✅ An administration building with a library, staff offices and amenities.
✅ Two learning neighbourhood buildings with general purpose classrooms, and flexible and collaborative teaching spaces.
✅ A specialist learning neighbourhood building for subjects such as food technology and science.
✅ A community hub with a competition-grade gymnasium, canteen, music and drama space.
✅ Two outdoor hardcourts and a sports field.
SCHOOL SHADE SAILS
Exciting EXCITING news!
Tarneit Senior College, Hoppers Crossing Secondary College and Dohertys Creek P-9 College have had their School Shade Sails Fund projects approved.
These new shaded outdoor learning spaces allow students to learn outside - a great measure to keep our schools as safe as possible for our kids, while also letting them enjoy the great outdoors.
It's all a part of our $190 million School Shade Sails Fund to support ventilation and outdoor learning in Victorian schools.
The Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation will grow thousands of native trees to be planted on Country as part of the Andrews Labor Government’s More Trees for a Cooler, Greener Westinitiative.
I'm so excited about this - it's all a part of our "500,000 New Trees For The West" initiative - and the greener streets, schools, parks and trails that our neck of the woods will enjoy.
As part of the second phase of the initiative, 5,000 native tube stock will be planted on Country throughout Autumn 2022 out of the 175,000 trees overall that the initiative will see planted this year.
What's better - it'll boost our efforts to tackle climate change, helping meet our ambitious target to halve emissions by 2030.
SUPPORTING VICTORIA'S RECYCLING TRANSFORMATION
A few weeks ago, we announced 13 new projects that will see 136,000 tonnes of plastics, paper, glass and tyres re-made into new products!
All while creating new jobs and new investment in the Victorian economy.
It's all part of our joint $36.5 million funding deal with the Commonwealth Government, which will reduce waste to landfill.
