Greening the Pipeline
Storm Water Harvesting System
We're Greening The Pipeline right here in Williams Landing with works on a storm water harvesting system kicking off!

This 22 megalitre system will provide a sustainable source of irrigation and integrated water management approach to help address the challenges of climate change in Melbourne's west.

Community gardens, play areas, and green open spaces will be built as part of the project to aid in urban cooling.

Sick Pay Guarantee
For Casual and Contract Workers
Are you a casual worker who's had to make the decision between a day's pay or looking after a loved one? Have you ever delayed a Doctor's visit so you could pick up a shift?

You shouldn't have to make this decision.

That's why we're bringing in 5 days of guaranteed sick leave for workers in a range of casual positions.

New In Truganina
Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Well-being Centre
Our Government just announced the locations of a further 21 Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Services to be established across the State.

They'll act as a ‘front door’ to the reformed mental health system, providing early intervention support for adults experiencing mental illness or psychological distress without needing a referral from a GP.

What's better? Truganina is getting its own centre.

International Women's Day
#BreakTheBias
It's time we #BreakTheBias
This International Women's Day we were breaking the bias by addressing the barriers to women participating equally in society.

For the last 4 years, I've held a special morning tea for women in our local community to celebrate. This year we were joined by Labor legend Jill Hennessy who shared her personal journey to politics and how she broke the bias becoming Victoria's first female Attorney-General.

Gender inequality affects almost every aspect of a woman's life and so we are calling out the outdated assumptions and harmful stereotypes that create barriers to women everywhere.

The Education State
150 Years of Public Education in Victoria
We're celebrating 150 years of our pioneering education system.
We were the first State in Australia (and one of the first in the world) to make education free, secular, and compulsory for all children aged 6-15.

Around 600 schools opened across the state in the five years following the passing of the Education Act – setting Victoria up for its future as the Education State.

And we're continuing that tradition, having invested more than $10.9 billion in building new schools and more than 1,700 school upgrades in just seven years.

In 2023, we're opening Tarneit Missen House Primary School & Riverdale East Primary School in our neck of the woods.

Bring it on.

We're celebrating a milestone - more than 20 million nutritious meals to support our growing students have now been served!

Despite the challenges of COVID, this has been a massively successful program for our community.

We introduced 'grab and go' meal options to take away and organised supplies to be delivered to the homes of vulnerable students.

Offshore Wind Target
An Australia First
THIS IS BIG! We've got a plan to generate at least 2 gigawatts of offshore wind online by 2032 – enough to power 1.5 million homes –  while creating thousands of jobs in the process.

It'll drive regional investment, slash emissions and create jobs.

More Free TAFE
Driving Post-pandemic Jobs
We're funding an extra 10,000 places across the TAFE and training system for people looking to reskill after the pandemic and move into healthcare and other in-demand jobs.

Our $61.6 million investment will give Victorians the opportunity to study any VET course, including from the Andrews Labor Government’s signature Free TAFE list.

Even Victorians who already have another qualification – including a degree – can still access these training places at any TAFE across the State if they’re looking to reskill or change careers after the pandemic.
