ARCHITECT APPOINTED FOR CAMBRIDGE PRIMARY UPGRADE

Better facilities are on their way for students at Cambridge Primary School in Hoppers Crossing with the
appointment of an architect to design the school’s new multipurpose playground thanks to the Andrews Labor
Government.

Member for Tarneit, Sarah Connolly today announced James Dean & Assoc Pty Ltd would design the works to be
undertaken at Cambridge Primary School for the construction of a new multipurpose playground.
The Andrews Labor Government has provided $369,665.00 to go towards the project from the Minor Capital Works
Fund.

The Victorian Budget 2020/21 invests $70 million in the new Minor Capital Works Fund, which includes $20 million
as previously announced as part of the Building Works Package.

Schools have been allocated funding to fast-track priority projects under the Minor Capital Works Fund to improve
learning environments as well as the condition and character of schools.

In the past five years, the Victorian Government has invested more than $9 billion in more than 1,600 school
upgrades – creating more than 10,000 construction jobs – and is now ahead of schedule its commitment to open
100 new schools by 2026, with 48 new schools opening between 2019 and 2022.
