BUILDING BOOST FOR MORE CATHOLIC SCHOOLS

30 October 2026

Every Victorian student deserves access to high-quality learning facilities, regardless of where they live or the type of school they attend.

That’s why the Carroll Labor Government is upgrading more low-fee Catholic schools across the state.

Member for Laverton Sarah Connolly today announced that St. Peters Catholic Primary School in Sunshine West will receive $3.3 million to help build a new learning and teaching building including general learning areas, breakout and support spaces, amenities, covered outdoor links to adjacent facilities and associated amenities.

This is one of eight low-fee Catholic schools that will share in more than $30 million through Round 2 of the Building Fund for Non-Government Schools - Catholic stream.

The funding will support school projects in metropolitan and regional Victoria, upgrading key learning infrastructure and specialist facilities for students and staff.

Projects include new campuses, additional classrooms and learning spaces and upgraded specialist facilities.

This will help schools respond to enrolment growth and provide students and teachers with modern, safe and fit-for-purpose facilities.

These projects are supported through Labor’s $450 million Building Fund for Non-Government Schools, ensuring more students across the state have high-quality learning environments.

The Government has invested around $972 million to build, expand and renovate low fee Catholic and independent schools across the state – made possible through three different grant funding programs.

Victoria has the largest school building program in the country, investing $20.1 billion to fund 126 new government schools and deliver over 2,400 upgrades.

Labor is investing in our schools, because we want the best education for our Victorian students.

We can’t risk the future of the next generation of Victorian students with the rise of a Liberal-One Nation Coalition.
