HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE FUTURE OF OUR P-9 SCHOOLS IN WYNDHAM

16 June 2026

Wyndham residents are being encouraged to submit their feedback on our P-9 schools in Wyndham, as part of a review of the model and its future in Victoria’s education system.

Wyndham MPs John Lister, Mathew Hilakari, Sarah Connolly and Dylan Wight, are encouraging teachers, parents and students to share their views and experiences with the P-9 School model, including their thoughts on whether it should be kept, improved or transitioned away from.

This feedback, once collected, will be shared with the Department of Education to guide how the Victorian Government moves forward, both with administering and building schools that may fall under this model.

Should the community support the view that more traditional school settings are preferred, including fully separate Primary and Secondary Schools and P-12 composite schools, then Members will support the Department of Education working with local schools in Wyndham on what a plan to transition schools to these traditional settings might look like.

In contrast, should the community make it clear that they support the current P-9 model, then work will be done with the Department of Education to increase engagement and communication with the community about the P-9 model and its benefits and advantages for students.

Interested community members, including teachers, parents and students, who would like to participate in the survey, can do so via this link: South-West P-9 School Survey.

In addition, community members are also encouraged to contact their local State Member of Parliament directly, either by emailing or calling, if they would like to share their feedback directly as well.
