TARNEIT RISE PRIMARY SCHOOL TO ENJOY NEW SPORTING FACILITIES, PLAY SPACES

09 July 2019

Tarneit students will soon have upgraded sporting facilities and play spaces to enjoy, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly today announced a further $175,000 toward the creation of a new soccer pitch and netball courts for Tarneit Rise Primary School – to be completed with an environmentally friendly natural cork material.

New landscaping works will also give students safe and enjoyable spaces to play and relax outdoors.

Natural cork is a safe, organic and renewably sourced material for sporting pitches, and is proving increasingly popular over legacy sporting pitch materials such as rubber and latex.

The $175,000 from the State Government’s Shared Facilities Fund will be allocated to Wyndham City Council for the completion of the landscaping works and natural cork pitch.

In total, $1.4 million has been allocated to this project to deliver first class sporting facilities for the Tarneit community.

The Labor Government has invested $5.6 billion to deliver more than 1,400 school upgrades and supporting over 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.

Under the Labor Government’s school building boom, a total of 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child can access a great local school and get a great start in life.

This building boom will continue over the coming years, with the Government having already appointed builders to start delivering 11 schools across the state that will open in 2020.

The Labor Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a great education.
