Fans of the Western Suburbs Soccer Club can now keep up with all the action thanks to a new LED electronic scoreboard at their Ralph Reserve home in Sunshine West - backed by the Victorian Government.
Member for Laverton Sarah Connolly joined representatives from the Club and Brimbank City Council to officially launch the scoreboard, made possible by a $70,000 investment from government.
Sport is the lifeblood of growing communities like Sunshine, and the new scoreboard is a great new way for fans of the local game to keep up with all the latest on and off the ground.
It adds a whole new dimension to the player and fan experience at the park, providing clubs and future champions with the chance to showcase their achievements on the big screen.
Community groups and businesses will also be able to take advantage of the scoreboard to broadcast local initiatives, upcoming events, and promotions.
The Victorian Budget 2026/27 is providing more than $24 million to support the development of high-quality, accessible community sports infrastructure across the state, including through the Local Sports Infrastructure Fund which is currently open for applications until 28 July.
It’s part of more than $2.4 billion the Victorian Government has invested in community sport and active recreation infrastructure since 2014.
Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and building the sporting facilities that our communities deserve. They improve safety for players and encourage greater participation for all.
