WILLIAMS LANDING FOOTBALL SCORES NEW LIGHTING

Sport in Williams Landing is set for a brighter future thanks to the completion of new sports lighting at Williams Landing Reserve.

Member for Laverton Sarah Connolly today joined Wyndham City Council Mayor, Cr Jennie Barrera at the reserve to officially open the new competition standard lighting thanks to $162,060 from the Allan Labor Government.

Home to the Williams Landing Football Club, the reserve now sports new lighting that meets Football Victoria’s competition standards.

That’s a great boost for the Saints who are looking to expand team numbers and use of the reserve.

The new lighting also opens the ground to more community use including casual play and local events.

The Victorian Budget 2023/24 is providing more than $213 million to deliver and improve community sports infrastructure and support initiatives that boost participation and inclusion in local sport. The funding is part of $1.9 billion invested in community sport and recreation infrastructure since 2014.

Sarah Connolly MP acknowledged the Wyndham City Council for its commitment and $108,400 financial contribution to the project.
