WORLD-CLASS SPORT FACILITIES TAKE SHAPE FOR HOPPERS CROSSING STUDENTS

20 July 2021

Students from Hoppers Crossing are another step closer to having the first-rate school facilities they deserve, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Recently, Premier Daniel Andrews and Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly visited The Grange P-12 College to inspect the school’s new Sports Science facilities which have been built as part of the $9.5 million investment funded in the 2019 Victorian Budget.

These works include the transformation of existing classrooms and facilities with a major upgrade to the science block - including sport science learning spaces and science specialist areas.

Works are well underway, with major works completed on sport science learning facilities and the newly refurbished rugby pitch.

This upgrade is part of the Andrews Labor Government’s massive investment of $10.9 billion to deliver new schools, more than 1,700 school upgrades, and support over 13,500 jobs for Victorians in construction and associated industries.

Under the Labor Government’s school building boom, 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child can access a great local school and a great start in life.

Quote to be attributed to Member for Tarneit Sarah Connolly:

“Our $9.5 million upgrade at The Grange P-12 College already has students kicking goals in the classroom and on the rugby pitch.”

“Building The Education State is about improving the lives of every kid – regardless of what side of town they grow up on.”
